Click “LIKE” If You….

Click Like
That has got to me the single most over used line on Facebook. And to be honest, I wish it were outlawed. And whoever started this trend should be locked in a room and forced to listen to Justin Bieber songs for the rest of their life! I am just wondering: Do you click like more often if people beg you too? Do you feel better after you click like? Do people stroll around clicking like on posts that ask for it? Do you really like it? Major brands do it, and then the smaller ones see Read more [...]

What Happened To The Human Factor?

metrics_suck
It has been some time since I wrote an article here on Social Web 101, but recently something came up that really gets me going. So, I will use my site to rant about it now :-) Metrics: Far too many marketing/social media companies worry more about metrics than they do about humans. Outside The Box: I absolutely love to see companies thinking outside the box and doing things that their competitors are either Read more [...]

An Interesting Use Of Direct Messages on Twitter

So today I was going through my reader this morning and I found a post by Gini Dietrich about Using LinkedIn to Prospect for New Business. I really enjoyed the article, and while reading it I realized I wasn't using LinkedIn enough....... anyway, that is a totally different topic that I am sure I will be writing about later. Anyway, back to my story.... it started with a tweet about that particular article. Automated DM's: I detest anything much in automation right now, and while I do schedule Read more [...]

Why Mike Stenger Unfollowed Me on Twitter

twitter-unfollow
So, I have a pretty good friend online, Mike Stenger, who had unfollowed me on Twitter recently. Why? Because my Twitter stream was filled with no conversations and only links! We discussed Automation in Moderation last week, and I had removed ALL automated tools from my Twitter at that point. Let me clarify something here: I am not totally against some automation, I just think it should only be a small portion of your interaction. Back to my friend Mike. I was preparing for an interview he Read more [...]
